In styles and trends on November 3, 2010 at 4:42 pm

Black leather is one of the must haves of the current season. It can be founded, not just on jackets and coats but even to make skirts and dresses, which are available in basic shades from black to brown and beige. The black leather skirt has been used recently by celebrities as a sophisticated item for casual outfits, while entire leather look like mini dresses, even available in suede, are set in several shops. Leather this winter is just everywhere, the key for an impeccable outfit is mixing it with different fabrics like wool and cotton, or maybe chiffon. One of the best outfits is the one of Gwyneth Paltrow who paired the leather skirt with a boyfriend blazer and a grey cotton skirt.  A leather skirt is a key piece that can’t be missed in a woman closet, here it is our suggestion from the Gianfranco Ferrè fall/winter 2010/11 collection.

Gianfranco Ferrè at Milan Fashion Week 2011

In Gianfranco Ferré, News&Events on September 28, 2010 at 10:27 am

The Gianfranco Ferrè collection, presented at the Milan Fashion Week has something that distinguish it from the others. The feature is undoubtedly the class of those creations which are simple and finely decorated at the same time. Black and white is, even in this collection, widely employed in dresses and gowns. But, in this case, black is a ribbon that crosses the silhouette on a white chiffon. Trenches and women suits can’t be missed while dresses are the main focus of the two designers, Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi. Python leather, macramé and sequin are the elements that cover dresses, with fine embroideries and plisse. Precious materials on soft fabrics that embrace gently the body falling slightly. A great collection that deserves our attention.

Minimal Style

In styles and trends on September 21, 2010 at 10:56 am

Another trend for the winter season, which dominated the Paris and New York fashion weeks, is minimalism. Dresses and, first of all coats, are all made with precise cuts in plain colours using a lot of beige, grey and black. Coats, from 2010 fall/winter collections, come out without collars in an unexpected range of different variations which shows off a kind of sophistication that will be the first rule of winter outfits. Embellishments are all set apart in this styles except drapes and some curls of the fabric. Those creations are designed above all to be simple giving a very elegant touch which is always appreciated.

Below some items from the Gianfranco Ferré and Valentino 2010 fall winter collections which are characterized by essential cuts and plain colours.

The famous singer Alicia Keys was one of the main celebrities that last night took part at the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball in Washington D.C.

For this important event the singer wore a Gianfranco Ferré black dress belongings to the 2009 spring/summer collection. The sleeveless dress fits on her perfectly. The full skirt is embellished by satiny details, the bustier is more close fitting than the skirt, this nice difference on size is stressed by the thin black belt. The result was a really beautiful mise.

Gianfranco Ferré collection gives space to short dresses, important dresses, with specific tailoring and precious fabrics with geometrical shapes. Very strong colours, iced colour and metallic grey supported by the catwalk itself, where dresses can reflect their charme even more.
