Ennio Capasa with this new collection demonstrates once again that “less is more”. Those simple cuts are enriched with vivid and plain colours like beige, turquoise, orange, red, blue and black which are the main features of the collection. Silk, leather and organza are combined creating shiny and opaque contrasts between the tops and skirts of dresses. While blazers have special crossed band fastener instead than buttons. Soft long dresses in those bright shades are essential chic pieces of the collection but the most elegant outfits are undoubtedly the total black ones with sheer details on the neckline and on the sleeves. Costume National used minimalism in a classy way proposing very elegant options for the next summer.

Last friday was the turn of the C’N’C Costume National fashion show at the Milan Fashion Week. The show took place in the main square of the city centre, in front of the Milan’s Duomo, hosting a very important event with a live band, the Horrors, and a ballet performance. The collection follows the style of the fashion house showing off a kind of elegance thought for the young people who likes being sophisticated. The idea is creating a urban style without renouncing to class. The result is an amazing collection based on plain colours, mainly white and beige with some vivid shades on the last pieces of the collection. It really worth to take inspirations from those outfits.

Sheer Black Dress

In styles and trends, Valentino on August 30, 2010 at 10:15 am

Since it was created in 1920 designed by Coco Chanel, the little black dress became a classic of fashion and a must have piece of clothing in every woman wardrobe. The idea was to create a simple and versatile dress wearable during the day with a blazer, and in the evening with appropriate accessories, like pearl jewels as Audrey Hepburn  in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The LBD (as fashion conscious use to refer to it) is most appreciated when is simple because will never go out of fashion with the passing of time. Anyway, over the years, the model has changed following the current trends and, for the upcoming season, designers are proposing it with sheer fabric details. The model remains a sweetheart cocktail dress but uses sheer detail helping to create a sexy illusion to low-cut styles. Every designer offers at least one dress like this, in their fall/winter 2010 collections, like Alberta Ferretti, Costume National and Emilio Pucci.

Those decorations and the sheer neckline make these new versions, of the little black dress, very elegant and sophisticated. Sometimes sheer fabric is replaced by lace like in this model from Valentino, or is enriched by stones for a more glamorous effect.

Seen on Megan Fox and Halle Berry this kind of style seems to be the best choice to look sexy and elegant in the same time.
