Floral patterns are continuing to adorn subtle dresses and gown, even in her 2011 spring/summer collection, bringing fairy tales to mind. Some pieces like sweaters and jackets are finely embroidered and are also brightly mixed with those soft and floral printed items making interesting contrasts. Most of the dresses have smart sheer effects and the colours employed are all the shades of nature, from ochre to green, beige and, of course, the nude shade. Every creation is a dream outfit that every woman can easily suit as the collection is designed for the “normal woman” as Alberta Ferretti said.

Nude Look

In Alberta Ferretti, styles and trends, Valentino on September 2, 2010 at 10:33 am

Nude colours imitate the skin shade playing with it and making a pure and delicate effect on outfits. Embroideries, sheer fabrics or soft fabrics are mostly used to match this look and create that sensation of femininity. Nude look is not necessarily about wearing sheer clothing that reveal the body, the idea is to suggest it keeping to feel at ease. Many designers have used the nude palette, which is from beige to soft pink, in their collections creating very elegant styles. The fall/winter 2010 Alberta Ferretti collection is based on delicate and feminine style and those shades are largely employed. The Valentino fall/winter 2010 collection has also different outfits made by soft sheer fabrics combined with nude colours. Keep up to date with this trend, take your inspirations!

Sheer Black Dress

In styles and trends, Valentino on August 30, 2010 at 10:15 am

Since it was created in 1920 designed by Coco Chanel, the little black dress became a classic of fashion and a must have piece of clothing in every woman wardrobe. The idea was to create a simple and versatile dress wearable during the day with a blazer, and in the evening with appropriate accessories, like pearl jewels as Audrey Hepburn  in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The LBD (as fashion conscious use to refer to it) is most appreciated when is simple because will never go out of fashion with the passing of time. Anyway, over the years, the model has changed following the current trends and, for the upcoming season, designers are proposing it with sheer fabric details. The model remains a sweetheart cocktail dress but uses sheer detail helping to create a sexy illusion to low-cut styles. Every designer offers at least one dress like this, in their fall/winter 2010 collections, like Alberta Ferretti, Costume National and Emilio Pucci.

Those decorations and the sheer neckline make these new versions, of the little black dress, very elegant and sophisticated. Sometimes sheer fabric is replaced by lace like in this model from Valentino, or is enriched by stones for a more glamorous effect.

Seen on Megan Fox and Halle Berry this kind of style seems to be the best choice to look sexy and elegant in the same time.

In styles and trends on June 18, 2010 at 10:47 am

Ready for the summer of 2010? Past continues to inspire the future as we can see from the latest creations such as dresses. Fifties style is probably the most iconic of fashion, making us think about Marilin Monroe, Grace Kelly and Christian Dior.

Many fashion houses like Alberta Ferretti, John Richmond and D&G have looked back to the 50’s for fashion inspiration to this day.

50’s comeback influences the spring summer 2010 collections as it did plenty of times over the years. Incorporate your style with classical fashion of 1950’s mixing and matching it with polka dot items, straight leg Capri pants or maybe a white shirt tied in front.
