Smiley Anne Hatheway is in Venice for the premier of her last movie “Rachel is getting married” directed by Johnatan Demme (“The silence of the lambs”) which could worth her an Oscar award and as well, this is the first time she acts in a dramatic role.
For the red carpet she picked a beautiful Versace long strapless pearl grey gown that looked amazing on her. Anne Hatheway and the world of fashion already met two years ago when she came to Venice with her “The Devil wears Prada”.

Actress Francesca Neri also in Venice as protagonist of Pupi Avati’s movie “Il papà di Giovanna”.
She, like many other stars, couldn’t resist this season trend: trimmed with lace dresses, and in particular, Prada trimmed with lace dresses.
For the premier of Pupi Avati’s movie she wore a black trimmed with lace dress from the fall winter 2008/09 Prada collection that is going to dominate next cold season.

I cant avoid focusing my attention on Charlize Theron again and what she wore at the party for the movie “Valentino the last Emperor”. On this occasion, indeed, she showed off a magnificent Frida Giannini’s creation from the fall winter 2008/09 Gucci collection.

Beautiful Charlize Theron attended the Venezia film festival too for the premier of “The burning plain” where she shares the screen with actress Kim Basinger.

She picked Versace outfits twice, a taffeta fuchsia silk dress for the photo call before the movie premier, and a luxury Versace one shoulder grey dress for the red carpet. Further comments on her style and beauty are useless I think…

Venezia film festival officially opened on the 27th of august, and here I am checking some of the most important and representative stars and their outfit.
Let’s start with actress Tilda Swinton, co star with George Clooney and Brad Pitt of the movie “Burn after reading”. She picked a Christian Dior dress for the press conference; it was a particular yellow dress enriched with coloured details and orange and turquois appliqués.

In fact, she wore an Alberta Ferretti long pleated mustard dress for the red carpet; Claudia Schiffer too chose an Alberta Ferretti dress, an elegant pearl grey one shoulder dress for the premier.

To finish off the wonderful occasion of the Cannes Film Festival, we look at the premier of the long awaited film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls, starring Harrison Ford and Cate Blanchett.
Harisson Ford never looked better as he arrived in a smoking suite by Giorgio Armani…

… and the beautiful Cate Blanchett who looked stunning in a steel-grey gown from the Armani Prive collection.

Aishwarya Rai, ambassador for the international brand L’Oreal, walked down the red carpet in an exquisite lustrous green dress. She looked ravishingly beautiful in her tight-fitting, floor sweeping, intricately embroided strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and thigh high slit, a creation by Giorgio Armani. She accessorized with solitaire earrings and ankle strap heels, studded with coloured stones.

Spanish celebrity Elsa Pataky arrived, with boyfriend Adrien Brody, in style on the red carpet, both dress by Roberto Cavalli.

And last but not least, the ever so beautiful Salma Hayek arrived in a jade coloured embroided dress by Balanciaga.

The second premier took off with the new Dreamworks animation film, Kung Fu Panda, staring the voices of American actors like Dustin Hoffman, Jack Black and a very pregnant Angelina Jolie. Once again most of the attention went to what the celebrities were wearing of corse.
Lucy Lui made her appearance like a vision in a stunning pale pinkish-white coloured dress by Roberto Cavalli, enhanced with little flower embroidery and a low v-cut chest. The tiny actress stood out from the crowd in this number. In the pictures below we can see her with Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black.

As always, Eva Longoria looked stunning and showed us all why she is one of the best red carpet stars. This time she chose to wear a dress suited for a princess by Versace from his 2008 spring summer collection. This ivory coloured fairy-tale dress is made with one shoulder and has silver beeded accents ending in a big fish-tale of tulle. A definite yes for the red carpet.

Natalie Imbruglia was also present at the premier looking calm and gorgeous in a beautiful maroon coloured dress by Alberta Ferretti.

This Indian Beauty has really taken our breath away over the corse of the Cannes Festival in her choices of dresses for the red carpet. This time Aishwarya Rai chose a luxurious beaded creation by Giorgio Armani.

In occasion for the opening ceremony of the the 61st edition of the Cannes Film Festival stars and celebrities went the full nine yards with only one idea, the Red Carpet. For the premier of the new Film Blindness, that took place on the 14 May 2008, the red carpet was painted with beauty and luxury from the dress worn by some of the most famous actresses.
First we take a look at the stunning terquoise dress, shown off by the lovely Eva Longoria, from the 2008 Spring Summer collection by Versace, while model Bar Rafaeli wore a custom made dress by Alberta Ferretti and Chopard. The lavender creation was decorated with over 2000 carats worth of Chopard jems.

Other sparkling looks included Cate Blanchett who chose a dress from the Giorgio Armani Prive collection. The dress is made like a organza in pale pink silk, the fabric is created to overlap and therefore has a petal-like effect, the material is gathered on the one shoulder to created a organza bouquet.

Mischa Barton in a dark indigo coloured dress and model Devon Aoki wore a sparkling body-huging dress both by Alberta Ferretti.

Aishwarya Rai, shown in the picture below, appeared in a beautiful black Roberto Cavalli gown and holding a white beaded clutch. There is nothing like that black dress that fits like a glove.
