At the Empire Cinema Leicester Square in London for the world premiere of the new thriller State of play the British singer Jamelia showed up looking very marine…

That’s right in a striped and sequin embellished mini D&G dress, inspired as known by the sea, marine symbols and far away sailors!

Jamelia picked a more neutral or should we say delicate, but still elegant version of the D&G s/s collection’s particular and fairy tale inspired creations. With the white D&G mini dress she wore a pair of blue navy suede heels.

Marine theme by D&G Dolce & Gabbana

In D&G Dolce&Gabbana, styles and trends on April 9, 2009 at 1:41 pm

marinedg

This spring/summer 2009 themes have been popular on the catwalks…

The D&G Dolce & Gabbana collection clearly demonstrate a marine theme this year. With stripped shirts in red & blue and white & blue like real sailors and bathing suites in the same way. Waist high trousers with bottoms on both sides, funny bathing hats.

And to emphasis even more their inspiration source on some clothes we’ll find anchors, boats and marine icons! Frequently seen as well are the big roses and silk scarfs combined with blouses and shirts. Predominantly even in this collection is the sheer fabric, which lightly waves in air.

Sometimes the models strongly reminds of the black and white movies and their elegant young ladies! The D&G collection is fully emerged in this marine and sailor theme, it entirely gives you the real sensation of sailor spirit in a very feminine way though. In fact that’s the reason why it’s  so brilliant!

S/S Fashion 2009: Fairy tale inspired dresses

In D&G Dolce&Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, John Galliano, styles and trends on April 6, 2009 at 12:53 pm

This spring/summer collection we find magic and romantic dresses on the catwalks. Fairy tale is the theme which seams to have inspired many dresses this year. Models wearing soft and romantic dresses almost looking like mild princesses.

The Giorgio Armani collection’s long glitzy dresses made in pearls and floral printed see trough fabrics, makes the models looking magic and unreal, like innocent soft fairies!

John Galliano though makes a stronger move, creating wild dresses in strong colors, making the models wearing blond curly wigs, strange enormous hats and heavy make up which gives the Galliano s/s collection an enchanting fairy tale touch! Like these green decorated soft Galliano dresses seen below.

D&GDolce & Gabbana this s/s collection made as well some incredibly peculiar dresses, which almost seem to derivate from an other world, the land of fairy tales. Almost reminding of a mixture of characters from Alice in wonderland. With these enormous eye-catching dresses.

The long dress in sheer fabric with the gold flounce belt is definitely surrealistic and a perfect fairy tale example. The flower covered one though is more romantic and seems to be taken from a remote princess in some other world far away. Finally this year peculiar fairy tale-like dresses are more than perfect…

Jessica Alba wears Dolce&Gabbana

In D&G Dolce&Gabbana, News&Events, styles and trends on December 3, 2008 at 2:30 pm

Yesterday at the Campari Club Red carpet in Milan, Jessica Alba wore a wonderful cocktail dress belonging to Dolce&Gabbana’s spring 2009 collection.

The dress is extremely smart, it has a refined style emphasized by the great value of material: Mikado silk. The elegance of this dress is also traceable as regards the choice of colour, an undying fiery red.

The preciousness of this dress is even better stressed by the big and elaborate belt, that gives a sparkling touch to the dress. The final effect is improved by the choice of red platform shoes and by red accessories.

Also the famous singer and actress Beyonce Knowles couldn’t resist and for the first of her new film “Cadillac Redords”, she also chose a dress from the spring collection 2009 of Dolce&Gabbana.

She prefers a more close-fitting mise. The red is replaced by a more classical and quieter black. The belt with golden and silver details became the focal point of all the dress.

The result is a sophisticated and really chic mise in both cases.

Scottish style for next 2008/09 fall winter D&G Dolce&Gabbana collection

In D&G Dolce&Gabbana on September 15, 2008 at 11:14 am

Typical Scottish squared pattern of the highlands is going to be one of next fall winter trends. Dolce&Gabbana, in their D&G Dolce&Gabbana collection for next fall winter, picked the Scottish pattern as leading fantasy of their collection.

Tartan, or Scottish pattern, was born within the Highlands in the 18th century, and it originally meant the belonging of a family to a specific clan. It became a distinctive icon of a family power, and, little by little, it also became part of the Scottish culture up to now.

Tartan was a particular wool pattern, typical of kilts and Scottish customs, the result of fine wool different coloured threads, matching with each other and creating the well known squared pattern.

Tartan quickly conquered the world of fashion, it became an important decorative pattern, very loved by designers, and fashion has been reinterpreting the tartan pattern according to its laws.

Wonderful witness of this trend is D&G Dolce&Gabbana collection, its dresses and shirts for a style that can be easily combined with country accessories and boots.

Trend of the day: zebra – print fantasy…

In Christian Dior, D&G Dolce&Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, designers and labels on July 24, 2008 at 4:24 pm

Christian Dior, D&G DOLCE&GABBANA and Roberto Cavalli have in common the taste for the zebra – print fantasies, as we are proud to show you today.

Bags and fantastic gowns proposed by these talented designers are showing off all their incredible attention for the details.

What I picked today is a superb Dior’ s sleeveless zebra – print silk dress that looks fantastic on its own or together with the lovely Dior’ s zebra – print large babe bag, or, if you are more demanding, you can also take a look at the fantastic Dior’ s Jazz clutch bag.
D&G DOLCE&GABBANA as well presents its jolly: how not to fall in love with this large shopping bag?

And Roberto Cavalli too, close to above mentioned zebra – print style, is not to be missed with a marvellous sleeveless gathered dress … A standing ovation to Roberto Cavalli, D&G DOLCE&GABBANA, and Christian Dior for their suggestions that can make the difference!!!

BACK TO ROMAN TIME.

In D&G Dolce&Gabbana, Roger Vivier, designers and labels on July 21, 2008 at 3:18 pm

Fashion has always been courting Past, for it is interesting to take what it brought good to us, and for the pleasure of recreating forever gone atmospheres. This time the world of fashion pays its tribute to a discussed and controversial era, the Roman era, with its bads and goods. In particular, designers focused on feet, by proposing the roman sandals as a symbol, or, The symbol, of this on going summer season.

Obviously the tribute has also been paying to classical movies like “Ben Hur”and Kubrick’s “Spartacus”, or “Quo Vadis?”, passing through the more modern “Gladiator”.

It is exactly gladiators what fashion is calling its last new born like. Designers are showing off their talent for the spring summer 2008/09 new collections, presenting all sort of sandals, with or without heels, available in every colour, in leather, for a sophisticated and glamorous effect. Also D&G DOLCE&GABBANA and Roger Vivier got inspired by glam gladiators. Gladiators are very confy, ideal either for a casual or elegant look on this warm roman summer.

If elegance is a must for Hollywood, Angelina Jolie follows the trend as one of the most beautiful actress of the system.
Specially on this picture, taken at a gala for the United Nations, where she is wearing a Dolce & Gabbana creation, a black gown with velvet trim completed by a black necklace. We can actually imagine her shoes….these black Dolce & Gabbana sandals from the D&G collection.
Angelina Jolie is now on cinemas featuring Tim Berkmambetov “Wanted” together with the Oscar nominated James McAvoy.

Madonna dressed by Dolce&Gabbana

In D&G Dolce&Gabbana on May 9, 2008 at 3:05 pm

Pop queen Madonna pairs up with Justin Timberlake in custom-made costumes by Dolce & Gabbana for her one night only performance in Roseland.  She opened the show with a stunning black satin tailcoat with pink lining only to take it off after a few minutes and to reveal the rest of the costumes which consisted of sexy corset tops and a black vest with “Hard Candy” written in Swarovski crystals.

Justin Timberlake also got into the swing of things by wearing Dolce & Gabbana for their duet ’ 4 Minutes to save the World’.  We can see these costumes on the cover of her Hard Candy cd, the 4 Minutes to save the world music video, on the cover of Vanity Fair and also for her performances in London and Paris.  These designs are fierce and sexy and really portrays the personal style of Madonna perfectly.
