Purple? Of course!

In Alberta Ferretti, Ermanno Scervino, Paciotti, designers and labels, shoes, styles and trends on April 16, 2009 at 1:31 pm

prrpf

Purple was the colour of last winter but is still top fashion, in fact on the international catwalks purple was one of the leading colours! This Spring and Summer our top designer’s have decided to combine many different shades and tones of purple like; lilac, lavender, violet and plum.

Of course purple is suitable even together with other colours, in fact another trend of the year is exactly the mixing of strong colours. A third way to combine purple is with gold or silver accessories. Which creates a really mysterious and seductive look perfect for a glamorous summer night party!

purpleii

For example Alberta Ferretti’s S/S collection has a couple of amazing purple creations. Long dresses as well as shirts with soft flounces. For example this plum coloured drape chiffon dress seen in the middle on the photo above. Or purple Alberta Ferretti trousers also seen on the photo above…

Ermanno Scervino chooses a brighter tone of purple, like this lilac criss-cross jersey dress

Cesare Paciotti goes for the eye-catching purple, as clutch as well as stilettos, amazing accessories this S/S or should I rather say an absolute must have this season! For a slightly more delicate taste the Paciotti jacket is an alternative!

How ever it doesn’t really matter where or how you wear it as long as purple actually has tinted your body!

The perfect New Year’s Day bags:

In Gucci, Iceberg, News&Events, designers and labels, styles and trends on December 19, 2008 at 5:35 pm

It’s almost Christmastime and with holidays is also coming the search of the greatest look for parties. Accessories play the most important role as regards the choice of the most glamorous mise.

As everyone know the right choose of accessories can enhance the beauty of every clothes. Particularly bags, the best friends of all the women, are the indispensable addition that make the difference, so make sure that your bags are as much glamorous as possible.

Fashion suggest us really small models. Cutch bag is the most popular at this moment, small-sized but great as regards the style.

Small, practical, eccentric but above all really chic and up to date the moonling bag of Gucci fall winter 2008/09 collection. It’s realised in a golden material that contributes like also the nice bow to give a more trendy touch at the already glamorous design. This is the perfect bag for an eccentric and youthful dress but at the same time it’s also perfect for a seemingly simple dress. gucci-clutch-bag5

Another suitable alternative is that one proposed by Iceberg fashion house, smart and cool as the first, this bag maybe has a more simple style than that one given by Gucci. It’s realised in a rolled silver leather, as fashion suggest us, and as if that wasn’t enough its glamour style is emphasized by the python leather effect. iceberg-clutch-bag1

Foulard fashion

In Christian Dior, Gianni Versace, Gucci, designers and labels on October 20, 2008 at 2:42 pm

Synonymous of elegance and class, foulard has always been considered a distinctive element over the years, an accessory whose importance never ended. And fashion proves what just said with the revival of this useful accessory.

 Worn around the head…

as a scarf…

attached on a bag…

as a belt…

This lovely piece of silk gained the favour of designers. Designers left their print on the label making their style recognizable on foulards too. Below some foulards from Gucci, Christian Dior and Versace.

Interesting approach by Gucci, with a gipsy style pattern and dark colours.

Gucci:

Christian Dior, in fact, plays more with colours and geometrical round shapes creating a light effect.

Christian Dior:

The interest for geometrical shapes affects Versace too, even if he prefers squared forms to round ones. The use of colour in Versace is evident too, yellow is predominant with lovely combinations: yellow and lilac, yellow and fuchsia, yellow and white.

Milan Fashion Week: Versace, Fendi, Gucci

In Fashion Online, Fendi, Gianni Versace, Gucci, News&Events, designers and labels on October 8, 2008 at 11:08 am

At the Milan Fashion Week the new Versace 2009 spring summer collection. Main idea of the new woman by Versace is the attention to the figures and shapes. He suggests tied mini dresses for long and elegant legs, and slim jackets. The use of metallic fabrics exalts the figure too, in a game of seduction and sensuality.

Fendi’s woman for next 2009 summer is a combination of round shapes, following next summer attention of fashion towards geometric games. The circle is the mirror of the new femininity, the circle as symbol of eternity and perfection.

Gorgeous Gucci collection by Frida Giannini with amazing colours and surreal atmospheres. A melange of looks is what Gucci woman will be like: 70ees style with a touch of safari, a woman who likes travelling and adventures.

Designer Frida Giannini, the creative director of the Gucci maison, confessed she got inspired by strong and brave Oriana Fallaci. From here, tailleurs and suites with Saharan jackets, dresses and hats for an Iniana Jones style. For the night, lots of luxury maxi dresses, an enchanting visual melody for a woman who chooses the night as best moment to reveal her sensuality. Gucci collection prefers strong tonalities of colours like blue, turquoise, red, purple and orange.

Milan Fashion Week: Prada and Roberto Cavalli

In Prada, Roberto Cavalli, designers and labels on October 1, 2008 at 12:29 pm

Miuccia Prada’s turn at the Milan Fashion Week for her new 2009 spring summer collection. Experimental collection for Prada, with a combination of minimalist tones and a new sensuality. Prada collection is looking for new expressions. New materials and fabrics provide the prime essence of new creations, and unusual combinations arose too, either snake skin with coulisse or new chromatic effects.

Roberto Cavalli, in fact, sacrifices his animalier print and wild style, which brought him lots of fortune indeed, for a new romanticism. Lovely faience print dresses on stage, nice mini skirts, printed maxi dresses, and colours, lots of colours.

Milan Fashion Week: Giorgio Armani and Alberta Ferretti.

In Alberta Ferretti, Giorgio Armani, designers and labels on October 1, 2008 at 11:41 am

The Milan Fashion Week brought lots of enthusiasm as usual, and we carry on entertaining you with two glamorous designers and their 2009 spring summer collections: Giorgio Armani and Alberta Ferretti.

For next 2009 spring summer, the ideal woman of Giorgio Armani has to be elegant and accurate in style. She doesn’t have to show off her sensuality, in fact, it has to pass through smooth shapes. Perfect dresses, light dresses, perfect jackets, Bermuda and trousers for this splendid Armani woman. His colours are soft, shaded sometimes, lots of grey and pastel nuances, an elegance beyond times.

For Alberta Ferretti, in fact, next summer is going to be a revival of the magical 20ees. She is going to enchant us with fringed dresses, laces and lovely applications. Cuts of dresses are asymmetrical and colours are light with evanescent tones, like silver, beige, turquoise, and stronger colours as orange, purple, blue and red, in an explosion of fantasy and freshness.

Milan fashion week: colours by Just Cavalli and Frankie Morello.

In Frankie Morello, News&Events, Roberto Cavalli, designers and labels on September 24, 2008 at 11:32 am

Obvious presence at the Milan fashion week, Roberto Cavalli and Frankie Morello for a delirium of colours on next summer fashion. Light and colours are the most evident trend of both artists.

The Just Cavalli woman explodes on a sandy catwalk, faithful to the distinctive savage soul she’s always been keen on. The Just Cavalli 2009 spring summer collection presents softer tones, less animal print dresses and trousers. In fact, this collection focuses on a 20ees style with light little dresses, lace and patchwork printed fabrics with pastel colours.

As for Frankie Morello, colour is the first thing of his collection too. He plays with richness and chromatic variety for a perfect game. White and safari beige appear on their own and in lively combinations too, with strong colours such as purple and dark yellow. Splendid mini dresses and skirts, long or stretch, incredibly short trousers with Saharan style jackets, this and so much more for a sparkling collection whose creations are the mirror of Frankie Morello style.

Milan woman fashion week: 2009 spring summer collections

Here we go… Summer is not over yet and we are already up to what next 2009 summer fashion will be like. On the 20th of September the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana is going to get started the Milan Woman Fashion Week, an awaited event worldwide.

For one week, up to the 27th of September, I am going to witness for you the main designers collections and their suggestions for next summer. The calendar is full of your favourite names, like Frankie Morello, Roberto Cavalli, Giorgio Armani, Alberta Ferretti, Prada, Gucci, Fendi, Versace.

Today, I am going to show you some of the shots from Moschino Cheap&Chic 2009 summer collection. Moschino collections have always been known for their use of colours and light lines for a young woman with a strong self being and freedom seeking attitude. Dresses remind of dawns and sunsets, gently caressing shapes and picturing summery fantasies with flowery and rocky patterns. Free beach party style dresses, balloon style loose jackets for funny and relaxed time. Colours are those of summer, yellow, pink, light blue, white. As for me, the seventies taste of this collection is absolutely irresistible, and now…let’s images do the talking!!

Venezia film festival part one

In Alberta Ferretti, Dior, Fashion Online, News&Events, Shopping Online, designers and labels on September 3, 2008 at 9:35 am

Venezia film festival officially opened on the 27th of august, and here I am checking some of the most important and representative stars and their outfit.

Let’s start with actress Tilda Swinton, co star with George Clooney and Brad Pitt of the movie “Burn after reading”. She picked a Christian Dior dress for the press conference; it was a particular yellow dress enriched with coloured details and orange and turquois appliqués.

In fact, she wore an Alberta Ferretti long pleated mustard dress for the red carpet; Claudia Schiffer too chose an Alberta Ferretti dress, an elegant pearl grey one shoulder dress for the premier.

Charlize Theron wearing Prada.

In Dior, Prada, designers and labels on August 25, 2008 at 10:44 am

Fantastic actress Charlize Theron captures my attention today thanks to her appearance for the premier of “Hancock”, featuring Will Smith, in Japan. On this occasion Charlize is wearing a beautiful sleeveless navy Prada dress with a wavy updo from the Prada Fall Collection 2008. The dress perfectly matches the delicate colours of the South African actress and exalts her beauty and class even more is ever possible! Prada is the designer of the moment, the brand appears in lots of magazines inspiring those who can’t resist to its peculiar style.

As for splendid Charlize Theron I would like to refresh her intense life and career starting with the Oscar she won in 2004 for her interpretation of serial killer Aileen Wournos in “Monster”. If you have strong guts you’ll be shocked watching her performance and her figure turning into the terribly awful bad looking and cruel serial killer. I must remind as well of Charlize Theron dramatic childhood, shaded by the presence of her violent and alcoholic father, Charles, who got killed for self defence by Charlize’s mom Gerda. Such a trauma had a strong impact on the actress who became very keen in supporting social causes and charity.
I loved Charlize Theron in other movies such as “The Devil’s Advocate” with Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino, and the remake of  “The Italian job”.

In 2004 Charlize Theron signs up a contract with John Galliano and she becomes the new testimonial for the Dior’s perfume J’adore.

Trend of the day: zebra – print fantasy…

In Christian Dior, D&G Dolce&Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, designers and labels on July 24, 2008 at 4:24 pm

Christian Dior, D&G DOLCE&GABBANA and Roberto Cavalli have in common the taste for the zebra – print fantasies, as we are proud to show you today.

Bags and fantastic gowns proposed by these talented designers are showing off all their incredible attention for the details.

What I picked today is a superb Dior’ s sleeveless zebra – print silk dress that looks fantastic on its own or together with the lovely Dior’ s zebra – print large babe bag, or, if you are more demanding, you can also take a look at the fantastic Dior’ s Jazz clutch bag.
D&G DOLCE&GABBANA as well presents its jolly: how not to fall in love with this large shopping bag?

And Roberto Cavalli too, close to above mentioned zebra – print style, is not to be missed with a marvellous sleeveless gathered dress … A standing ovation to Roberto Cavalli, D&G DOLCE&GABBANA, and Christian Dior for their suggestions that can make the difference!!!

BACK TO ROMAN TIME.

In D&G Dolce&Gabbana, Roger Vivier, designers and labels on July 21, 2008 at 3:18 pm

Fashion has always been courting Past, for it is interesting to take what it brought good to us, and for the pleasure of recreating forever gone atmospheres. This time the world of fashion pays its tribute to a discussed and controversial era, the Roman era, with its bads and goods. In particular, designers focused on feet, by proposing the roman sandals as a symbol, or, The symbol, of this on going summer season.

Obviously the tribute has also been paying to classical movies like “Ben Hur”and Kubrick’s “Spartacus”, or “Quo Vadis?”, passing through the more modern “Gladiator”.

It is exactly gladiators what fashion is calling its last new born like. Designers are showing off their talent for the spring summer 2008/09 new collections, presenting all sort of sandals, with or without heels, available in every colour, in leather, for a sophisticated and glamorous effect. Also D&G DOLCE&GABBANA and Roger Vivier got inspired by glam gladiators. Gladiators are very confy, ideal either for a casual or elegant look on this warm roman summer.

Today we are going to compare two young and promising actresses who have in common, a part from a superb career, a declared love for elegance and designers. We are talking about actress Anne Hathaway in a stunning Valentino and Clare Danes in an elegant Gucci.

She then climbed the mountain of success thanks to imortant roles side by side with icon like Jake Gyllenhall in “Brokeback Mountain” and Meryl Streep in “The Devil wears Prada.

Ethereal Clare Danes has been defined as “The star of the future” (ShowWest 1997) and as one of the 50 most beautiful women worldwide. It doesn’t have to be a surpise, then, watching her in a Gucci dress from the Gucci collection 2008.
Her career started when she was very young, when she was 11 she featured in one episode of the series “Law and order”. She quickly gained important roles in movies like “Little Women” with Susan Sarandon and Winona Ryder. She is unforgettable starring in “Romeo and Juliet” with Leonardo Di Caprio, and moving in “The Hours”. In fantastic “Stardust” she acts with Robert De Niro and many more important names.

An incredible career for these two enchanting young women who deserve our compliments for their talent and for their taste in chosing designers like Valentino and Gucci, top names in the world of fashion lending their wit to top stars.

Well, the Cannes Film Festival is at its end, but the beautiful images of the stunning dresses, worn by the most glamorous celebrities, will stick in our minds and on the internet, forever.  I would say that the 61st edition of the Cannes Film Festival was a great success, not only in reference to the new films, but also with the trends that were set by these great celebs and the designers who dressed them.

First we take a look at the red carpet for the premier of the new  Woody Alen film, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, staring Rebecca Hall, Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson.  Rebecca Hall, one of the leading actresses arrived on the red carpet, in a beautiful grey, one shoulder gown in chiffon by Alberta Ferretti. For the press conference she chose a lovely pale pink cocktail dress, again by Alberta Ferretti.

Aishwarva Rai appeared on the red carpet with her husband in a gorgeous bright pink satin dress by Roberto Cavalli.

The beautiful Elsa Zilberstein, who never goes wrong in her choices of what to wear on the red carpet, floated along in a total white look by Dior, absolutely fabulous.

In the occasion for the premier of Gomorra, the new film by Reberto Saviano, Rula Jebreal wore a white chiffon dress from the 2008 spring summer collection of Alberta Ferretti.  She really looked like a Grecian goddess with the white dress on her flawless bronzed skin.

Red carpet of the ‘Kung Fu Panda’ premier

In Roberto Cavalli, designers and labels on May 21, 2008 at 9:32 am

The second premier took off with the new Dreamworks animation film, Kung Fu Panda, staring the voices of American actors like Dustin Hoffman, Jack Black and a very pregnant Angelina Jolie.  Once again most of the attention went to what the celebrities were wearing of corse.

Lucy Lui made her appearance like a vision in a stunning pale pinkish-white coloured dress by Roberto Cavalli, enhanced with little flower embroidery and a low v-cut chest.  The tiny actress stood out from the crowd in this number.  In the pictures below we can see her with Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black.

As always, Eva Longoria looked stunning and showed us all why she is one of the best red carpet stars.  This time she chose to wear a dress suited for a princess by Versace from his 2008 spring summer collection.  This ivory coloured fairy-tale dress is made with one shoulder and has silver beeded accents ending in a big fish-tale of tulle.  A definite yes for the red carpet.

Natalie Imbruglia was also present at the premier looking calm and gorgeous in a beautiful maroon coloured dress by Alberta Ferretti.

This Indian Beauty has really taken our breath away over the corse of the Cannes Festival in  her choices of dresses for the red carpet.  This time Aishwarya Rai chose a luxurious beaded creation by Giorgio Armani.

In occasion for the opening ceremony of the the 61st edition of the Cannes Film Festival stars and celebrities went the full nine yards with only one idea, the Red Carpet.  For the premier of the new Film Blindness, that took place on the 14 May 2008, the red carpet was painted with beauty and luxury from the dress worn by some of the most famous actresses.

First we take a look at the stunning terquoise dress, shown off by the lovely Eva Longoria, from the 2008 Spring Summer collection by Versace, while model Bar Rafaeli wore a custom made dress by Alberta Ferretti and Chopard.  The lavender creation was decorated with over 2000 carats worth of Chopard jems.

Other sparkling looks included Cate Blanchett who chose a dress from the Giorgio Armani Prive collection.  The dress is made like a organza in pale pink silk, the fabric is created to overlap and therefore has a petal-like effect, the material is gathered on the one shoulder to created a organza bouquet.

Mischa Barton in a dark indigo coloured dress and model Devon Aoki wore a sparkling body-huging dress both by Alberta Ferretti

Aishwarya Rai, shown in the picture below, appeared in a beautiful black Roberto Cavalli gown and holding a white beaded clutch.  There is nothing like that black dress that fits like a glove.

Alberta Ferretti Resort 2009 collection

In designers and labels on May 19, 2008 at 1:08 pm

Following the very flamboyant opening of the Dior Cruise 2009, with the collection by John Galliano, it was Alberta Ferretti’s turn to take on the ramp.  She took a different approach to vacation dressing keeping to the typical cruise favourites and pretty feminine clothing.  You can expect to see a lot of linen fabric as the collection is inspired by the sea and cruise type colours featuring basics such as striped sweaters, navy pea coats, cuffed walking shorts, pleated miniskirts, and shorts, straight-necked tops and shirtdresses exposing plenty of leg.  Although this collection is designed to be worn on a luxurious cruise ship it has proven to be chic enough for the hot city streets.

For the evening she incorporated plenty of signature floaty cocktail dresses made from soft chiffon featuring thin belts, drop waists, little satin heeld, and a beautiful Grecian gown to keep with the theme of her 2008 spring summer collection.

With her continuous remarkable collections it is no wonder why Alberta Ferretti is as the top of prefered red-carpet-designers among the celebrities.

These shoes have high wooden wedges with a bit of a ’kink’ like they are in the shape of a 2, it is this curve in the heel that sets it apart from the others.  The leather ankle-strap follows through to form the detail on the foot, also available in other colours,  which is then attached to the sole of the shoe with little golden straps. They keep with theme of the rest of the collection making you feel like a goddess in the time of ancient Greece. These are great for the summer as most of the foot is exposed so your feet can feel free.

The footwear collection by Alberta Ferretti for the summer is light and are shoes that can be worn to every occasion.

Star faces for top designers

In Gianni Versace, Iceberg, Roberto Cavalli, designers and labels on April 22, 2008 at 2:24 pm

We all love to see and hear what the celebrities and top designers get up to when they are working and in the time when they are just relaxing and having fun.  And do they know how to draw attention!!!  Now celebs are combined with fashion, beauty and even more fame as these celebrities are now strutting their stuff and creating magic behind the cameras of some of the worlds most well-known photographers to be “the face” of the biggest fashion brands worldwide.  These adverts are not only refreshing and sexy but they also bring new meaning to the word “glamour”.

We have some previews of the celebrities that will be filling the pages of our top magazines as “the new faces” for these top designers.  These photos are really surprising and inspiring, these are some of the photo that really cought our attention, and they are “the faces” for Roberto Cavalli, Iceberg and Versace

For the face of Roberto Cavalli there is the ever so beautiful Kate Moss that keeps us on the edges of our seats.  She started with the Winter collection of 2007/2008 and now they don’ want to let her go, and we can all see why.  In these pictures she and other top models represent the Spring/Summer collection of 2008 by Roberto Cavalli.

Then there is the beautifyl actris from the O.C, Mischa Barton staring as “the face” for Iceberg for the second season in a row. In theses pictures for the spring/summer collection by Iceberg she portrays the clothes to their full potential, and gives her the “girl next door” look, which are like most of the trends this summer.

And now for “the face” or should I say faces of Versace for the summer of 2008… Gisele Bundchen and Patrick Dempsey.  The summer collection for 2008 by Versace is really extravagant and colourful which is desplayed with excellance on the bronzed skin of this Brazilian beauty. And as for this handsom actor Patrick, well the pictures speak for themselves. This combination will really make the summer of 2008 the most glamorous summer of all.

Designers use yellow to brighten up our Summer for 2008

In Gianni Versace, Gucci, Valentino, designers and labels on April 18, 2008 at 2:33 pm

Prepare to be sun-kissed this summer as the top designers of our time used yellow to its limits. This vibrant colour was the highlight of all the most important collections this spring, like we could see on every runway, used in all its different shades: bright and baby yellow, shimmering yellow, citrus tones and also those with a shade of mustard.

Looking at some of most beautiful dresses in yellow for this season by designers like Gianni Versace : this magical Grecian gown, demonsrated by the beautiful Carmen Kass, in glowing golden-yellow has a fabulous open back feature for those really hot summer nights.

Then there are also the tranquil dresses by Gucci,: most of the dresses in the collection are of big yellow or pink floral and graphical prints againt a white or black material, but this dress, as shown underneath, really caught our attention, it is the chic sunflower yellow dress.

Last but not least the dresses by Valentino in soft candy-like tones of yellow.  This srapless gleaming yellow dress really shows the beauty and elegance like that of all Valentino’s collections, with a rosettes rippled bottom to finish off this masterpiece.

In which ever way you like it, in all its different shades, make sure that for the summer of 2008 you shine like the sun.
